19th Annual Mother's Day Tea

Mother's Day is a special time when we appreciate those who have cared for us, and continue to care for us, down through the years. In honour of these special women, Operation HOPE is proud to announce its 19th Mother's Day Tea, which will take place on Saturday the 27th of April.

Operation HOPE cordially invites you to attend this special event at the English Tea Room, located in the luxurious Sheraton hotel. Be soothed by the enchanting melodies of our harpist, and participate for the chance to win some amazing prizes! The event will begin at 09:30 am and conclude at 11:30 am.

• Each guest is asked to donate KD15 in order to attend
• Only 55 spaces are available for guests - make sure you get your donation in in time!
• Only pre-paid reservations will be accepted

Mother's Day Quilt 2013

That's right, everyone, it's that time of the year again!

For those who don't yet know, each year Operation HOPE offers a beautiful, one-of-a-kind quilt handcrafted quilt for Mother's Day. As always, we will be holding a raffle drawing on Saturday the 27th of April at our Mother's Day Tea (more information coming soon!).

As you can see, this year's quilt is another work of art! This masterpiece, called 'Do You See What I See' was lovingly created by Teresa Al Alban after over 100 hours of cutting, piecing and quilting. If you would like to enter for a chance to hang this magnificent quilt in your home, and give your support to Operation HOPE, please read on!

Entry details:

• In order to enter for a chance of winning, we ask that you kindly donate KD1 to our cause. This will award you one chance. A donation of KD20, however, will award you 25 chances (that's 5 free chances!), making it much more likely for you to win!
• Donations will be accepted each Saturday at HOPE House from 9am-12pm, or you can contact us at  99375613 to make arrangements to drop off your donation at your convenience.
• As mentioned, the drawing will take place on Saturday the 27th of April at Operation HOPE's Mother's Day Tea. Don't worry if you are unable to attend - the winner need not be present!

March for Operation HOPE.

With almost at the end of the 1^st quarter of 2013, Operation HOPE is geared to March its way through the month with its series of community oriented initiatives.

Dates	Mission / Initiatives : 9am -12pm
Mar 2	Book Liquidation Day: Famous author Stephen King had once stated “Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent. What I wonder is why everybody dosent carry a book around for those inevitable dead spots in life”. We agree! which is why we want you to have a book to carry around. Hence our book liquidation at Esther’s Attic on March 2, 9am -12pm. All books going at 0.250 fils each.
Mar 9	Donation for Domestics in Distress Day: This is when you can pass by between 9 am -12pm and pick any piece of clothing (adult, KD 1/piece, kids, KD0.25/piece) item from Esther’s Attic not for yourself but for someone in distress and leave it with us for distribution.
Mar 16	Donate a Toilteries Item Day: With the aim to pack 200 toiletries bags by March 19, we would appreciate your input, even if it means getting any 1 item from home to make 1 bag ( shampoo, soap,tooth paste, toothbrush and 10 count sanitary napkin) to accomplish this task.
Mar 23 & 30	Donation drop off Day For Spring Yard Sale: Drop off any gently used clothing, books, household items, toys at HOPE House between 8am – 12pm for the upcoming yard sale on April 6th.

Esther's Attic is Open for Visitors!

Just because Esther's Big Spring Clean has ended doesn't mean the Attic is closed! 

Esther's Attic, Operation HOPE's one-of-a-kind boutique for gently used items remains open for visitors, every Saturday from 9am - 12pm at HOPE House, Rumaithiya, Block 9, Street 92, House 23. All proceeds will, of course, go toward funding our wide variety of outreach programmes to help people across Kuwait, meaning that your support is much appreciated. Our selection of items ranges from books, to clothes, to household items. So what are you waiting for? Come along to Esther's Attic !

For anyone wishing to aid us in our task even further, Operation HOPE is always glad to accept donations every Saturday and Tuesday at HOPE House. We take donations of all kinds, so long as they have been used with care. 

If you'd like to take a more hands-on approach, then we're more than happy to accept volunteers to help us with tasks such as organising and sorting donations, all of which are essential to the running of Esther's Attic. Esther's Big Spring Clean Up!

After an exciting year last year and an already fantastic start to 2013, Esther's Attic is ready for a Spring Clean!

You guessed it: it's that time of year once again! Here are all the details you need to know for Operation HOPE's big Spring ATTIC Sale!

What?: A massive sale for all items. From household items to children's toys, we have it all!
When?: Saturday, 16th of February, 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Where?: OH premises in Rumaithiya, Block 9, Street 92, House 23

We welcome you all to take this opportunity to do your own spring cleaning and donate any gently used items toward the sale. Donations will be received every day until the 15th of February, and will be collected at the OH premises at the address given above!

Happy Spring Cleaning, everyone!

Happy New Year from Operation HOPE!

It's been another fantastic year at Operation HOPE!

From our Winter Warmth distribution of over 2,261 bags to street  cleaners across Kuwait, to our Women's Day events at boththe Filipino and Srilankan embassies, as well as arange of other exciting events and outreach programs, we have succeeded in making 2012 a truly special year for people all over Kuwait.

Esther's Attic (our used item boutique) has had a successful maiden year, thanks to all the new and gently used donations we have received from our benevolent supporters.  

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have supported Operation HOPE throughout the year, especially our benefactors, volunteers and well wishers. Without you, none of this would ever have been possible!

With that in mind, we want to make sure that 2013 will be an even better year.

We have plenty of exciting events planned, both at HOPE House and other locations in Kuwait.

We'd like to ask for your support during this year, so that we can make it a special one for those who we have vowed to help.
